Abstract

The paper proposes a new minimum loss node structure with a single transmitter/receiver (TX/RX) using single buffer deflection routing for two connected slotted multihop networks. The proposed node structure was found to be ideal for space switching transparent optical networks since it has low loss and simple control while still providing good throughput delay performance.
