Mid-infrared integrated cavity absorption spectroscopy for chemical sensing

An optical cavity enhanced mid-infrared absorption apparatus has been developed that incorporates a continuous-wave, single-mode quantum cascade laser as its laser source. The high-finesse cavity acts to increase the effective pathlength sampled by the laser.
