Abstract
The determination of initial density and electron temperature at the surface of a ferroelectric plasma source from floating probe measurements in an expanding plasma was discussed. The negative charging of the floating probe capacitance by fast flows was studied. The temporal profiles of the plasma density were obtained from the voltage traces of the discharge of the charged probe capacitance. Analysis suggests the application of the method for any pulse discharge which was accompanied by considerable electromagnetic noise.
