As we will see, the Liouville mode becomes an extra dimen-sion so that the resulting string theory is d+ l-dimensional.

N2 - We define a double scaling limit and operators in the d=-2 matrix model. Following Polchinski's argument in d=1, we explain the logarithmic scaling violations in d=-2 in terms of the tachyon effective action. We also show that KPZ scaling follows from Polchinski's argument in other dimensions.
