Abstract
The magnetorotational and Parker instabilities of a Dean flow as applied to centrifugally confined plasmas were studied. Two coupled destabilization mechanisms, flow shear and magnetic buoyancy, were presented for the study. Results showed that the flow shear alone is insufficient to destabilize the plasma, but the magnetic buoyancy instability could occur.
