Abstract

The design options and the design integration of the magnet system for ARIES-III, a steady state reactor based on D-He3, are presented. Both the toroidal and the poloidal field system are described. A new concept for manufacturing the toroidal field coil and for supporting the out-of-plane loads will be presented. The paper concentrates on those issues that are unique for the D-He3 reactors.
