Liquid lens approaches for simultaneous standard and extended depth of field imaging

Abstract

A tunable acoustic gradient lens is shown to provide depth-of-field switching at kilohertz rates in a nonlinear microscope. We demonstrate two modulation strategies; fast varifocus scanning during each pixel and pseudo-Bessel beam excitation.
