Abstract
Plant life history evolution describes how tradeoffs between life-cycle components give rise to life history strategies. Demographic models parameterized with field data can be used to predict evolutionary stable life history strategies such as flowering time in monocarpic perennials. These tools can also be applied to understand rapid evolution of plant life histories in changing environments.
