Abstract
The absence of frequency shifts in pulsed NMR experiments on the B-phase of 3He at tipping angles φ{symbol} less than 104° is explained on the basis of Leggett's resonance equations. At tipping angles greater than 104° and large magnetic fields we find the frequency shift δω = ( 4 15)(ΩL2/γH) (1+4 cos φ{symbol}), where ΩL is the longitudinal resonance frequency of the B-phase and H is the magnetic field. The consistency with the observed nuclear free precision signal is pointed out.
