Abstract

The paper presents the results of experimental and 2D numerical studies of jet formation at the boundary of a decaying pulse discharge in ambient quiescent air at 1 atm. Rarefied high velocity jets are observed that are attributed to the channel curvature formed during the initial breakdown phase.
