Abstract
The chemical structures of low-pressure laminar premixed acetaldehyde flames with equivalence ratios of 1.7:1 and 1:1 were studied. About 40 species were identified and their mole fraction profiles were presented with well estimated uncertainty. Some C4 oxygenated intermediates i.e. furan methyl vinyl ketene tetrahydrofuran and 1-butanol are also identified. With non-negligible concentrations the concentration of 1-butanol can be as high as 3×104 these oxygenated species reveals the importance of a series of radical oxidation and recombination reactions.
