Abstract
Polyacrylanide solutions are used in enhanced oil recovery as mobility control agents. Screen viscometer measurements give different information about polymer molecular weight and molecular weight distribution than intrinsic viscosity or relative viscosity measurements. Screen factor measurements offer a simple and rapid characterization method for dilute polymer solutions that yields reproducible results which correlate well with end-use performance.
