Abstract
Theoretical analysis of the limiting cases of plasma assisted combustion has been carried out on the basis of nondimensional criteria analysis of the problem. A classification of the combustion processes assisted by plasma has been proposed. For the case of nonequilibrium plasma the additional mechanism of the ionization equilibrium disturbance caused by turbulent pulsations of ionic and electron components has been analyzed for atmospheric and high pressure methane-air plasma. It is shown that depending on the electron temperature pulsations level three regimes of the discharge maintenance can be obtained.
