Abstract

This paper discusses the influence of Kevlar and E-glass fiber reinforcements on the morphology and isothermal crystallization kinetics of poly(phenylene sulfide) (PPS) composites. The effect of molecular weight of the PPS matrix on the morphology and crystallization kinetics of these composites was also investigated. The experimental results indicate that the presence of both Kevlar and E-glass fibers have little to no effect on the crystallization kinetics of a linear form of PPS matrix (Fortran®) for all molecular weights studied.
