Abstract

A laser diffraction system for measuring particle size distribution and its application to the measurement of particles suspended in liquid is described. In order to determine the effect of 'multiple scattering' on the measured light energy distribution several measurements were made at different particle concentration and these results are reported. The application of this system to in-stream measurements and the possibility of using the system for process control are discussed.
