Abstract
A description is given of a radial flow cell for examining the fluid flow patterns of spunbonded polypropylene and polyester fabrics and glass-fibre mats. Anisotropy indexes and in-plane permeabilities were calculated from the flow patterns and used to characterize the fibrous materials. Two methods for measuring the pore throat distributions and the pore volume on compressed mats are also presented.
