Abstract
Evidence of non-equilibrium population of interface phonons in quantum cascade lasers is obtained by micro-probe Raman and photoluminescence measurements. Interface phonon lifetimes of 1 ps at 116 K lattice temperatures are estimated. The analysis of the Stokes/anti-Stokes Raman spectra gives an interface phonon temperature of 158 K.
