High-SNR power offset in multi-antenna communication

Abstract

The high-SNR power offset in multi-antenna communication was analyzed. The analysis focused on the multiplexing gain, or the multiplicative increase as function of the number of antennas. For most channels of interest, the multiplexing gain equals the minimum of the number of transmit and receive antennas. The impact of the various channel features was captured in the power offset or zero-order term in the affine expansion.
