Abstract
The temperature (T) dependence of the Hall coefficient RH is studied in Co-doped and Ni-doped YBa2Cu3O7, and Ni-doped La2-xSrxCuO4. In these systems we show that as the high-Tc behavior is suppressed, the unusual T dependence of RH is also suppressed in a characteristic way. The evidence strongly suggest that the strong T dependence of RH is an anomaly specific to the unconventional normal state in most, perhaps all, of the high-Tc oxides.
