Gamma rays from the early universe

Abstract

Gamma ray observations provide a window on the early universe. The MeV window, may provide a peephole on the universe at a z ∼ 1000. Cosmic strings, exotic remnants from the early universe, if they exist, may be observed though their γ-ray emission.
