Abstract

The appearance of fractional quantum Hall effect (FQHE) states at filling factors v=4/11, 5/13, 7/11, 4/13, 6/17, and 5/17, located between the minima of the primary FQHE sequences was experimentally studied. From angular dependent measurements, the spin polarization of the strong v=4/11 state was deduced and found to be spin polarized. The much weaker, electron-hole symmetric state at v=7/11 rapidly disappeared under tilt leaving its spin polarization uncertain.
