Abstract

A flow-focusing configuration into a microchannel fabricated with soft lithography techniques was investigated. The operating diagram of drop size as a function of flow rate and flow rate ratios illustrated regimes with both monodisperse and polydisperse droplets. The results showed that smallest droplets produced can be much smaller than the orifice radius.
