Abstract

The use of the proposed formulation for solving boundary value problems of interest in soil mechanics is illustrated by applying it to analyse the interaction of an offshore gravity structure with its soil foundation when subjected to cyclic wave forces, the penetration of a marine pipeline into its soil foundation, and the localization of deformations into shear bands in soil media. -Keith Clayton
