Abstract
The recent developments of molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) techniques for growth of ferromagnetic semiconductors and their applications in spintronics were discussed. Among the materials created with this technique and studied were Ga, Mn and As in which optimization of growth techniques led to reproducible materials properties and ferromagnetic transition temperatures. It was believed that the progress made with these materials suggests strategies that can help guide the search for new diluted magnetic semiconductors (DMS) ferromagnets. The efforts will yield ferromagnetism at high temperature for applications, motivating the study of other related materials as well.
