Abstract
The description of Fermi liquid to Luttinger liquid transition at the edge of a two-dimensional electron gas (2DEG) was presented. Typical fractional quantum Hall features of a very high mobility were exhibited by the 2DEG. The system was found to be consistent with a non Fermi liquid behavior for filling factor value less than 1. For filling factor value greater than 1, an Ohmic tunneling resistance between the edge and a three-dimensional contact was observed. The Luttinger liquid exponent at a given filling factor was shown to be depended on the sample parameters.
