Abstract

A mathematical model of the turbulent cascade process for a weakly compressible gas has been developed. It has been used to model an influence of different fluctuation scales formed by the localized energy deposition at small scales on the cascade phenomenon. It has been shown that compressibility effects are manifested at high harmonics but at small density perturbations a substantial influence on the turbulent spectrum is not observed. An evaluation of velocity perturbations by the femtosecond laser discharge has been calculated for different values of the energy deposition and turbulent intensity.
