Abstract

The (d,p) stripping pattern for excitation of the 7064-keV level in Pb208 is best described by l=2 which implies Jπ=1-. This implies that electromagnetic deexcitation would take place by E 1 radiation rather than M 1 as had been previously suggested. NUCLEAR REACTIONS Pb207 (d,p), E=26.2 MeV; measured σA.
