Abstract
We hereby correct the published article with regard to the numerical value of S0, which changes by a factor of less than 2; the new value is S0 = 1.8 × 1010 cm. Here, S0 is the initial spacecraft–shock distance, where the maximal particle energy reached E0 = 67 keV, i.e., the lowest Epi-Lo energy bin. We also correct for a factor of 2 in the expression of Δt in Section 3.3: Δt = Δx2(t)/2κ1(p). Likewise, we correct Equation (12) by the same factor: (Formula presented) Here we present the correct version of Figure 6, bottom-right panel, which shows a stronger effect of the particle escape and is also in better agreement with the Parker Solar Probe/IS⊙IS/Epi-Lo measurements. The top and bottom-left panels in the figure are unchanged. (Figure presented).
