Abstract

The dispersion relation for the Weibel instability [Eq. (6) in the original paper1] is missing a factor of 2. The corrected dispersion relation is given here in the following equation: (Formula Presented). This change leads to a significantly better agreement between the simulation results and the linear theory with respect to the previous case (see Fig. 1 and Fig. 1 in the original paper). (Figure Presented).
