Abstract

Radially curved Alfvén eigenmode wavefronts as observed on the electron cyclotron emission imaging diagnostic indicate that the modes are associated with a net radial energy flow. This energy flow is due to a radial mismatch in the location of the drive and damping of the mode. Energy transport is created by an enhanced parallel fluctuating magnetic field that is generated by the radial wavefront curvature.
