Abstract

A folded Sb4 ring with terminal Te atoms and cluster containing nine Sb atoms and six Te atoms, the respective polyanions [Sb4Te4]4− (1) and [Sb9Te6]3− (2), form concurrently during the catholic dissolution of a Sb2Te3 electrode. This type of electrochemical synthesis certainly extends the repetoire of methods in preparative solid‐state chemistry. ○ = Sb, • = Te. (Figure Presented.)
