Efficient evaluation of beam ion confinement in spherical tokamaks

Abstract

The beam ion confinement in spherical tokamaks was analyzed. The particle motion was described in the guiding center approximation and finite Larmor radius effects were included in the determination of the prompt orbit losses. The losses due to nonadiabatic changes in the magnetic moment were also determined.
