Abstract

The effect of spatial variation of perturbed fields within gyroradius is described which is based on resistive magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) stability. The perturbed electric and magnetic fields are evaluated at position of particle's guiding center in normal mode analyses for tokamaks. The tearing mode stability is also described for reversed field pinch (RFP) which is important for neutral beam injected particles. The Vlasov equation determines the fast particle dielectric response which is inserted in cylindrical MHD model for bulk plasma.
