Abstract
Measurements of the Haline shape and of the spatial distribution of Ha emissivity in the PDX tokamak are interpreted in terms of molecular dissociation reactions at the plasma edge. The influx of molecules is shown to be roughly proportional to the edge emission intensity over a wide range of temperatures. The H2particle lifetime is estimated for various types of discharges in PDX.
