Abstract
A general finite element model is proposed for dynamic fluid/structure/soil foundation interaction problems. The procedure allows for a realistic and optimal modelling of (1) the fluid subdomain and its free surface; and (2) the two-phase saturated soil foundation. Fluid/structure/foundation interacting systems are important in offshore structure design where seismic events and major storms are prevalent. (from authors' abstract)
