Abstract

This chapter begins by making a distinction between inequality and discrimination. It presents a broad view of how globalization and discrimination may be interconnected, and then moves to a discussion on how we could ever measure something as particularistic as discrimination in any meaningful comparative way. Following this introductory material, an overview of the subsequent chapters is presented.
