Dinitrogen cleavage with carbon monoxide and silanes

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

Addition of carbon monoxide or silanes to zirconium or hafnium compounds with strongly activated dinitrogen ligands results in cleavage of the N-N bond with N-C or N-Si bond formation, respectively. My presentation will focus on the scope of these reactions, the mechanisms by which they operate and their utility in preparing nitrogen-containing organic molecules directly from atmospheric nitrogen.
