Abstract

Single-mode quantum cascade lasers (AlInAs/GaInAs heterostructures) are excellent candidates for mid-infrared chemical sensing applications. The development of an optical cavity-enhanced trace gas detection apparatus (NICE-OHMS) will be discussed along with advanced electro-optical modulator design.
