Abstract

Cyclotron resonance measurements at the microwave frequency were performed to determine the band edge mass in a two dimensional hole (2DH) system in AlGaAs/GaAs quantum wells. Edge magnetoplasmon resonance was also observed. The 2DH density was determined by the low field Hall resistance. The density dependence of band edge mass is consistent with the picture of the nonparabolicity of 2D hole valence bands.
