Abstract
Certain aspects of the generation of steady-state currents by electron cyclotron waves are explored. A numerical solution of the Fokker-Planck equation is used to verify the theory of Fisch and Boozer and to extend their results into the non-linear regime. Relativistic effects on the current generated are discussed. Applications to steady-state tokamak reactors are considered.
