Abstract

Biodiesel is a carbon-neutral energy source that has been employed in ocean transportation in US. Seawater droplet condensed from air will contaminate biodiesel and cause corrosion of containers. Corrosion of the container in vessels will induce leakage of biodiesel to seawater and contaminate environment. So research of the metal corrosion in seawater contaminated biodiesel is necessary. Wire beam electrode method was employed in this work to investigate the mechanism of materials corrosion of biodiesel containers in marine environment. Characteristic of electrochemical distribution in biodiesel/seawater/materials was studied.
