Consolidating achievable regions of multiple descriptions

Abstract

In this paper, some existing inner bounds of multiple description problem are investigated. We prove that the EI Gamal-Cover region [1] is a subset of the Zhang-Berger (ZB) region [7]. Furthermore, the Venkataramani-Kramer-Goyal region [8] is equivalent to the Zhang-Berger region.
