Abstract

The collisional transport in low aspect ratio devices was discussed. Two equilibria from the National Spherical Torus Experiment (NSTX) were found to be chosen as representative low aspect ratio equilibria. It was found that the maximum orbit width for the full orbit varied by nearly a factor of 5 over the banana width. Analysis shows that the rms deviation from a flux surface varies significantly between the full and gyroaveraged orbits.
