Abstract

Anomalous giant Rashba spin splitting in two-dimensional hole systems was demonstrated. The Shubnikov-de Haas (SdH) oscillations at low magnetic fields were examined to measure the spin subband densities. It was shown that in two-dimensional heavy hole systems in accumulation layer-like single heterostructures, a nonzero electric field resulted in an increasing Rashba coefficient.
