Abstract
The 1970s and 1980s witnessed a reappropriation of concrete poetry in the GDR under the name of Prenzlauer Berg Literature. What led to this revisiting of an ostensibly still anachronistic literature? Is its merely epigonal or ought it to be recognized as an achievement in its own right?
