Abstract
The start up process of mode locking in a semiconductor fiber laser that uses a TOAD as an optical modulator and performs clock division was simulated. The clock division technique employed a 10GHz Erbium doped fiber ring laser as the pulse source. Results indicated that the clock division operation at 10GHz could be realized with slow carrier recovery time in a semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA).
