Abstract

Addition of terminal or internal alkynes to a base-free titanocene oxide results in synthesis of the corresponding oxometallocyclobutene. With appropriate cyclopentadienyl substitution, these compounds undergo reversible C?C reductive elimination offering a unique approach to cyclopenta dienyl modification.
