Adaptive PMD compensation using OFDM in long-haul 10Gb/s DWDM systems

Abstract

In this paper, we show OFDM can adaptively compensate for large all-order PMD without requiring feedback. We demonstrate error-free transmission on a 1920km 40×10Gb/s DWDM link with 48ps mean DGD in presence of fiber nonlinearity.
