Abstract

Evidence has been obtained for the formation of acylaluminium dichlorides by transmetalation between Cp₂Zr(Cl)(acyl) and AlCl₃. They have been shown to be reactive toward electrophiles at both the carbon and the oxygen of the acyl group.
