Abstract
A numerical study of drop deformation and breakup in biaxial extensional flows at low Reynolds numbers is summarized. The investigation provides useful results that may be compared and contrasted with more extensive studies concerned with drop breakup in uniaxial extensional flows and bubble breakup in biaxial flows at finite Reynolds numbers. Both steady state results and the effect of some simple time-dependent flows are discussed.
